My Henna Journey…

After posting Get to know Womanish Affairs, I got quite a few messages asking to post about my henna experience. So here it is! 🙂

I have always been so passionate about art. For as long as I can remember, I have always drawn flowers, squiggles and the most random crazy patterns; forever doodling! (1)

One day I just happened to pick up a henna cone and draw on myself. It wasn’t that bad, considering I made something up from the top of my head. Since then, I’ve always created a few designs here and there. Any occasion; birthdays, weddings, Eid, etc. The henna cones come out to play. (4)    (6)

There are times when I am not happy with the result but there’s always one person who praises me constantly, no matter what, my aunty, Hala B! Always promoting me to her friends. She has been my number one fan when it comes down to henna and if it wasn’t for her I don’t think I would have got this far with my henna journey. Every year I find myself getting better and better at it.  (3)

The designs usually come from the top of my head but I have seen many henna designs on the net. I can never seem to copy them; detail by detail, I get a little inspiration from Pinterest (You can check out what I’ve pinned, here) but it’s whatever comes into my head at the time that’s what I’ll do. If you feel inspired by my henna designs and do try them out or even if you feel a little creative and make something up, I would love to see. Don’t forget to tag me on Instagram or Twitter – @womanishaffairs
If you would like to see more of my creations, please leave me a comment, I’ll post some more on Instagram, so you can follow me on there too.
