It’s been a while since I’ve written a book review and I’m so excited to share my opinion on Anybody Out There by Marian Keyes. This book is definitely one of my top 5 books that I’ve read.
Anna Walsh, her discovery and recovery was heartbreaking but her strength to keep going was inspirational.
Anna goes back to New York to find her love. She thought there would be a chance he might not be in New York but she had to try because she knew one thing for sure, that he wasn’t with her in Dublin.
“I picked it up and sniffed it and enough of his smell still lingered to make me dizzy. I buried my face in it and the intensity of his presence and absence made me choke”
“By the time I opened my eyes, I was quite peaceful. He wasn’t with me and I understood that.”
This was the first book I read from Marian Keyes and after I read it, I went out and purchased a few more that she’s written. Keye’s has written about The Walsh’s who are an Irish family with four daughters. The Walsh family had me laughing out loud, while Anna’s story had me in tears. Keyes share Anna’s story little by little and gave us glimpses of Anna’s past, there were a lot of unexpected twists and turns in this story, it was hard putting this book down.
I have to agree with Heat, they said “It takes real talent to make a reader laugh and cry… the story will stay with you long after you’ve read the last page” and it does. I definitely recommend this book, I think I’ll be reading this again very soon.
