When I first started blogging, which was around 2 years ago, all I kept seeing were pictures and videos of bath bombs. A lot of people were going bath bomb crazy! I think the trend has calmed down now though. Maybe not. Who knows?!
Last year, I received my first ever bath bomb as a gift for my birthday, believe it or not, I only just used it the other week. I’ve been feeling so low lately, I thought maybe a bath bomb will cheer me up. Sounds silly right? Well let me tell you, I was actually excited to try something new, I was fascinated by the fizz and the scent was beautiful. The fascination died after a couple of minutes though.
One thing I didn’t like was the fact there weren’t many bubbles, I was just lying in a bathtub full of coloured scented water. However, I instantly noticed that my body felt so soft, the bath bomb was like a conditioner for my body. Other than having no bubbles. I enjoyed my first bath bomb experience.
I asked on my Instagram and Twitter if you thought bath bombs are overrated and the results were 50/50. Do I think they’re overrated? Slightly, yeah! But I wouldn’t rule them out. Some are pricey for one use and I think it’s definitely better value for money to use bath salts or gels, especially if you are trying to save money. Would I use bath bombs again? I think I would if I feel like treating myself once in a blue moon. It’s definitely nice to change it up once in a while.
Self-care and love are important. Sometimes, I really struggle with this but deep down I know it’s important and when I do have a good day; energy or motivation to get up and take care of myself, I make the effort so whether it be a handful of bath salts, a few blobs of gel or a pricey bath bomb that just fizzes away in seconds I know I will enjoy it and it will make me feel a little better.
